Pink October Campaign 2025

Pink October Campaign 2025 – Your Health Matters

The Evangelical Association for Sustainable Development continues its journey of awareness and early detection of breast cancer in Minya Governorate

Since 2017, the Evangelical Association for Sustainable Development in Minya Governorate has adopted a breast cancer control initiative in conjunction with the global Pink October events, which mark the international month for raising awareness about early detection of breast cancer and supporting women fighters.
In 2025, this year’s campaign came in a different and distinctive form under the slogan “Your Health Matters”, as its activities expanded to reach the poorest villages and included new groups of women and girls, with the aim of spreading health awareness and empowering women in facing the disease.

Campaign Scope and Areas of Implementation

The campaign targeted three main districts within Minya Governorate: Samalout, Minya, and Abu Qurqas, in addition to five villages: Kom El-Mahras, El-Amoudain, Nasafis, Beni Obeid, and Beni Ahmed El-Sharqeya.
The association was keen to reach women in remote areas to ensure that all groups benefited from awareness services and free screening.

Campaign Activities

The activities of the Pink October 2025 campaign varied between field awareness, psychological support, and medical services, and included:

  • Awareness seminars for girls and women aged 25 years and above on the importance of early detection and the steps of self-examination.

  • Free clinical screening for suspected cases, with 15 cases referred to Minya Oncology Center and Samalout Oncology Hospital to complete examinations and receive the necessary treatment.

  • Supporting women fighters who had undergone mastectomy surgeries by providing special medical bras, which were produced within the association’s workshop as part of women’s economic empowerment activities.

  • Training and vocational programs for women benefiting from the association’s services, in addition to providing small loans to help them start independent projects.

  • Training local work teams within the association’s projects to become qualified cadres capable of spreading awareness in their communities in a sustainable manner.

  • Sharing visual coverage of the campaign’s activities in villages and districts.

  • Distributing awareness leaflets and brochures explaining early self-examination steps in a simplified and easy-to-understand manner.

Impactful Achievements and a Continuing Message

Through the Pink October 2025 campaign, the Evangelical Association succeeded in reaching hundreds of women and girls across Minya Governorate and providing diverse services that combine awareness, treatment, and psychological and social support.
It also managed to economically empower a number of women fighters by providing special support tools and new training opportunities.

The Evangelical Association for Sustainable Development reaffirms its commitment to continuing these efforts year after year, based on its belief that awareness is the first line of defense against breast cancer, and that supporting women on their journey toward recovery is a shared societal responsibility.

In Conclusion

The Evangelical Association renews its call to all women to pay attention to early detection and regular follow-up, as early detection means life, and our permanent message remains:

“Your Health Matters.”
